Buddha's footprints is a landmark reflecting the rich culture of Thailand. Samui is known not only for the beaches but also is proud to showcase its rich Buddhist culture. It is one of the most revered sights in Samui.

More than 300 years old, these footprints are superimposed one on another. Each one is artistically en- graved.

They are housed in a modest shrine 150 steps up a steep hill, which also offers a great view across the plains to the mountains opposite and to the sea over the tree tops. They are engraved in stone which certainly symbolizes the "liberation path" as discovered by Lord Buddha for the salvation of the soul.

Climbing all the steps, you can enjoy breath taking views of the surrounding countryside, valleys and mountains which takes you closer to God.

As there is no sign posted, finding this attraction will be part of the adventure. There are 163 steps to climb in all, but the view up there of the surrounding treetops and valleys will be worth it.
